Luckily, there are many rental vacation homes and cabins in the Driftless ready to welcome you and your pet during your stay. If you find yourself road tripping near the Hillsboro area, one pet friendly stay is the Driftless Trout Cabin, where pets can stay for no additional cost. Accommodating up to four guests, the location gives you access to the entire cabin and 5.6 acres of outdoor space. Driftless Trout Cabin is near kayak and canoe rentals, prime fishing locations, and hiking at Wildcat Mountain State Park and Kickapoo Valley Reserve, so there will be plenty of pet friendly outdoor recreation as well.

Towhee Cabin is another pet friendly stay in Vernon County. Located in Viroqua by Tainter and Mcgraw creeks only a 15 minute drive south of downtown Viroqua, the property is the perfect place to stay with your pet while exploring the area. The quiet, private cabin will welcome you and your pet each day you stay and offer plenty of space for exercising with private trails starting right in the backyard. Towhee Cabin can house up to 5 people comfortably and also offers guests an outdoor firepit and porch for sitting and enjoying the outdoors or a night of stargazing. With Viroqua being only a short drive away from the cabin, you can easily explore the charming Driftless city and the many great businesses and restaurants while still enjoying the remoteness and serenity of the property when you return.

Charming Ferryville is a great destination in the Driftless and it’s even more enjoyable when traveling with your furry companion. Fortunately, Grandview Motel & Vacation Rentals runs six different vacation rental houses around Ferryville that are pet friendly for an additional fee. Each location features different amenities and various scenic views of Ferryville and the Mississippi River. Many of the locations offer room for boat or trailer parking, if you plan on going out on the Mississippi River or are hauling along bikes or other recreational vehicles, and most locations have a hot tub and outdoor patio. The rentals are located in private areas, secluded from neighbors, making these great options for relaxing and enjoying the peaceful outdoors with friends, family, and your pets.
