Guided Moon Hike – Junior Ranger Day

Guided Moon Hike – Junior Ranger Day

Celebrate the night sky with your Junior Rangers! We will have astronomy exhibits on display in
the visitor center throughout the day and will be helping learners complete their Night Explorer
booklets to earn a commemorative patch! In addition, we are hosting a special guided moon
hike beginning at 8:00 pm along the Yellow River Boardwalk! Be sure to dress warmly. Red lights
and headlamps ONLY.

Call us at 563-873-3491, email us at EFMO_Interpretation@nps.gov, or stop by the Visitor
Center to reserve your spot! Please leave your name, phone number, and the number of spaces
you would like reserved for the event.

Effigy Mounds National Monument preserves a large concentration of mounds, including many
Effigy Mounds in the shape of animals. The 14 miles of hiking trails provide an insight into the
social, spiritual, and ceremonial life of the Native peoples who inhabited and revered this land
for thousands of years. For more information, visit the park’s website at www.nps.gov/efmo or
find us on Facebook.

The event is finished.
