Plan to attend the 12th Annual Bald Eagle Appreciation Days. New birding programs will be held at the AmericInn and Country Inn and Suites Friday evening. Saturday’s programs include: Live bald eagle and raptor programs (featuring six raptors from the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center) and various Power Point educational programs on “Bald Eagle Status and Monitoring”, “Tracking the Decorah Eagles” and more. There will be new birding and nature educational exhibits and displays, outdoor viewing of bald eagles through spotting scopes, a life-sized bald eagle nest, live reptiles and amphibians, nature photography displays, optics, display, and numerous activities for children. Saturday’s programs and activities will be held at Hoffman Hall, 1600 S Wacouta Ave, Prairie du Chien from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. All programs are free and open to the public Friday evening and Saturday. The Bald Eagle event is co-sponsored by Effigy Mounds National Monument and the Prairie du Chien Tourism Council, 800-732-1673.
